OK, I ordered the ASRock K7S41GX motherboard the other day and noticed
that it will include a modem with it?? FIrst I ever heard of a MB with
it's own modem! I am assuming this modem is a WinModem, not one with a
controller chip. Went to the ASRock web site and can't find any info
on this modem at all.

This board is just going to be used for my folks email and lite
surfing. Is this modem a contender? Or should I go ahead and order a
seperate modem??

Thanks.

AMR modem, but it was / is an option, not on all versions of the MB.
yes it is as close to a win- modem as you can get.

Lots of motherboards come with modems onboard. That modem should be
just fine. You won't need another one.
