Mobile Printers and mobile means mobile

I am looking for suggestions on mobile, and I mean truly mobile printers
something easily transportable with a laptop and airline carry on.

I've looked at:

Pentax PocketJet3 Series - Cost $$$

This seems to be the only 8.5" wide portable printer out there unless I've
missed it. Seems that Pentax has this market to themselves hence the price.

SiPix A6 - Cheap, but may not be around and may not be durable enough
Brother MPrint

These two and some others only print 4.0 to 4.25" wide, which is not ideal.

Is there not any other products in this market that:

1) Preferably is thermal based, AND can use PLAIN JANE
Staples/OfficeDepot/Sams/Walmart Letter paper versus special paper thermal/fax
paper that fades & curls.

2) Similar in size to the Pentax, but as a long as it was about the size of a
laptop would be ok.

3) Battery powered.

4) IrDA, USB, serial, with optional 802.11, bluetooth is fine as long as USB,
Serial, and IrDA are included. Bluetooth only is not acceptable, legacy support.

So is the Pentax the only viable truly mobile printer out there or I am just not
finding it?

A pity that a serial interface is on your must-have list, because the Canon
Pixma iP90 might otherwise interest you (laptop sized, battery option, plain
paper, USB and IrDA).

You can find HP 3xx (300, 310, 320,340, 350) series on Ebay. Perhaps
acceptable (with a serial/parallel converter added to your carrying
bag.) Advantage is they are dirt cheap and can print color if you need
it. Also look at HP 450

I looked at that but it looks way bigger than a laptop folded.

Interfaces can be: serial, USB, IrdA, or some combo of them. IrDA/Serial,
IrDA/USB, Serial/IrDA/USB, Serial/USB. It just canot be wireless only, and
specifically can not be bluetooth only.

Fair enough. I guess my old laptop (Toshiba S4010) is big by modern
standards: just measured it, and it's 1,174cc larger than the iP90 printer.
