Mobile Application Development Toolkit

I saw where Microsoft has released the "Mobile Application Development
Toolkit 2004". What is it? I have Visual Studio 2003, do I need it?

The kit contains everything you need to learn about and evaluate mobile
development. For example a whole bunch of articles, case studies, SDKs and
tools, third party offers etc:-

The kit includes an evaluation edition of Visual Studio 2003 for those who
don't already have it. If you already have Visual Studio and the SDKs you
can download the rest of the kit (~50mb) for all the documentation and other
features - see the link above for the download link.

I'm trying to figure out what the Toolkit is. Is it a supplement to Visual
Studio 2003? A standalone product? The best that I can figure out from the
web page is that it's a collection of samples, demos, articles, marketing
hype and trial copies, which is not exactly what I would consider to be a
"Development Toolkit".

It's an attempt to promote Windows Mobile development tools by putting a lot
of commonly
needed learning curve resources on one disc. Beyond the resources you
listed, there are SDKs
and Emulators included such as:

eMbedded Visual Tools 2002 Edition, Pocket PC 2002 SDK and Smartphone 2002

Emulator Images for Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software for
Smartphone

I spoke at the Roadshow here in Denver and Microsoft handed out this kit to
all attendees - in this
format, it included a second disc with VS.Net 2003 Standard edition.
