Hi All,

I'm making a 'append' query and I'd like to append the date but I month
behind etc.

I'd like it to be in the format of MMM-YY (Jan-06)

So if were in Jan-06 currently, I'd like it to formulate Dec-05.

Any ideas?

An append query adds *records*. Are you trying to add a new record to a
table, or change a date in existing records?

A date field in Access stores a full date (Month, Date, and Year) as a
number. You can display it in the format you want, but the actual day will
be stored in a date field. Are you using a date field?

Yes I want to add records.

I will be adding the records each month, covering the previous months
data.

I could include dates in the data but it would break the data down and
would return loads of info.

I'd rather append to the table each month, adding in the previous month
and year to the table.
