Missing Two Tabs on Desktop Properties

D

Diane Hopkins

Dear Sirs/Madams:

I have run into another weird problem in one of my profiles, Diane, which
has Administrator rights on my WinXP Pro installation.

When I click the right hand mouse for Desktop properties in that profile,
only 3 tabs on top come up. I am missing the Themes and Desktop tabs, in
addition to my bar at the bottom of the screen being black. This just
happened last night, because I decided to use the Diane profile, since the
registry was only 256MB, versus 540MB for my Administrators account.

Please help. Thank you.

P.S. My Black Quick Launch and Task Bar are no longer black, but still
missing the two tabs.

Diane, you posted this yesterday and I replied with a lengthy response. Did
you see it? If so then reply to that thread with the outcome of what you
have done. If you can't see the previous thread, search for in using Google

A reply to your question from Rock two days ago. Did you try the
suggested solutions?

Dear Sirs/Madams:

I have run into another weird problem in one of my profiles, Diane,
which has Administrator rights on my WinXP Pro installation.

When I click the right hand mouse for Desktop properties in that
profile, only 3 tabs on top come up. I am missing the Themes and
Desktop tabs, in addition to my bar at the bottom of the screen
being black. This just happened last night, because I decided to use
the Diane profile, since the registry was only 256MB, versus 540MB
for my Administrators account.

Have you tried a system restore to before the problem occurred with
the
Diane profile? Also you could try running the edits on Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 285: Restore All Display Tabs
Line 164: Restore Taskbar to Default Functionality

Another work around is to create new profile with admin level
privileges.
Are things working ok in the account? If so copy the data and
settings from
the Diane to the new. If it still works ok, delete Diane.

Lastly, you should not use the built in Administrator account for
normal
activities. That should be set aside to used only if something
damages the
other user accounts that have admin privileges.

Nicole, in the future you should post a new message asking for help, rather
than tagging onto someone else's post.
