missing system32.exe file

after getting a virus norton has deleted trhe
system32.exe file in the system 32 file, now when i start
windows it says that this file is missing how can i
rectify this problem without having to reinstall window

You don't want it back. It's the virus you deleted. You're now
left with a reference to it that you also need to remove.

Its not a valid Windows file. Its the virus file that was deleted, and XP is still trying to load.
