missing SENT folder from OE6

Dave L.

Hi, I'm not sure how it happened, but my entire SENT
folder, including the button from the OE6 page, went
missing. I searched my computer and found the folder, and
tried to import it into OE6 as described in the help
files, and it says "import successful", but it's not
there when I open OE6. I can't figure out how to get
thing back to normal. HELP, please.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?
icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!

DBXtract

DBXtend

The (original) Sent Items.dbx file is damaged. I would close OE and then
Move Sent Items.dbx to another Windows (not OE) folder and run
DBXtract/DBXtend on the moved file. (A new, empty Sent Items.dbx will be
created when you next open OE.)

If either application successfully recovers any messages, count yourself
fortunate. Recovered messages may be dragged into an open OE folder, but...

Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose. Frequently perform a manual compact of
all OE folders whilst "working offline". More at
