Missing reference

Doug

Running Excel 97 at s/r2, on W 98, when I enter data in a
cell I get a message "Can't find Library or Project"
I press OK and get the references dialog. The usual
references are there, but a selected reference is marked
"MISSING:" with the name field blank! The address is a
folder where I save worksheets normally. "E:\ExcelSheets"
The problem occurs only in one particular workbook. If I
create another w/book by copy file, or cut and paste
individual sheets, the infection is propagated to the new
file. This is a very large workbook, 11 sheets with
hundreds of formulas, hence not practical to rewrite.
Can any of the experts out there suggest something to
address this problem?

Tksalot in advance

Can you just remove the missing reference by un ticking
the box?
That usually works for me, with no bad side effects

cheers

Reply to Nick Hodge.
Safe mode has no effect on the problem, sorry to say.
