Missing "Professional"

Can anyone tell me why that when I reboot my system and
it normally comes up saying Windows XP "Professional" at
the start and now it only says Windows XP and doesn't
display the "Professional" as well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This isn't the correct newsgroup to ask questions relating to the "Windows
XP Professional" operating system. This newsgroup is for questions relating
to the "Windows XP Embedded" operating system - they are two different
Microsoft products.

However - I've noticed that since upgrading to Service Pack 2, the
"Professional" has dissapeared from the boot logo on my desktop PC, so I
suspect this may be the cause.

yeah, that's by design. the bitmaps for the various flavors of XP no
longer show the specific sku in the kernel's splash screen for SP2.
However, the explorer shell will still indicate the versions (Embedded,
Professional, Tablet, etc...)
