Missing Product Key

I purchased a used Dell on ebay. It showed it comes with
XP loaded, which it does and with a Dell reinstall CD,
which was included too. It also comes with a booklet
that does not contain the COA. I cannot re-install the
OS and am wondering how I can find the Product Key Code.
When I go to the properties of My Computer it only shows
20 characters, not 25. Any suggestions.

Greetings --

If it was an OEM (factory installed) license, the Product Key's
stored on a holographic label that the PC manufacturer is supposed to
affix to the exterior of the PC case, or on the bottom of a laptop.

If the COA for your machine is missing, you can pick up a new OEM COA from
www.pricewatch.com for about $50. I have one (1) OEM copy of XP loaded on 5
machines - all with different OEM COAs that are legal per MS.

WRONG!.......

I dont know where you got your information from..............

Distributing Paper COAs without the corrosponding CD is still illegal, not
to mention selling MS OEM operating system requires at least bundling it
with some type of hardware.
