Missing pictures and boxes

Some web pages are missing pictures and boxes; instead of
the info showing, I'm seeing an empty box with a tiny
icon on the upper-right-hand which has 3 colored symbols
(triangle, square, etc.) in it. I've uploaded the latest
IE patch, but no change; Dell also can't help me. Any
ideas anybody, please?!?!

Make sure JavaScript is enabled. Go to Tools > Options > Security >
Customize. Scroll down to JavaScript and check "Enable".
