Missing padlock in IE 6

Lately the padlock symbol is missing from the tray when I go to a secure
site in IE. The https is in the address bar OK but the padlock is missing.
Anyone know what causes this? I suppose a security setting has been changed
but I can't find it.

Please start troubleshooting by doing a scan with a current version
antivirus using updated definitions. Do the scan in Safe Mode.
