missing out of office assistant and exchange extension command

I have Outlook 2002 on windows XP pro. There is no out of office assistant
under tools. I tried to activate as per the Help instructions, but I have no
exchange extension commands as they suggest. Any ideas?
 
Are you connecting to an Exchange Server? If not, you won't have those
items. You'll have to use the Rules Wizard to emulate them.

Hello Boudu,

You dont have an option of out of office assistant in Tools menu
( available only for exchange server).
However please follow the below mentioned aritcle about how to create
a rule for out of office assistant.
