Downloaded Knowledge Base Article 307545...states not to run this procedure on OEM installed operating system. Any idea of the consequences??? Not sure if I should run it or not
You'll have to contact your OEM's technical support to determine
if you can perform the necessary repairs using the OEM CD. Because
many low-quality OEMs provide only a "recovery" or "restore" CD,
repairs are not always possible.
