Please help us to help you. How did you try to load WIndows XP? Please be
very specific.

The message certainly didn't say there wasn't enough memory so you should
make a new partition, because memory and disk space are two completely
different things. Exactly what was the message? Please provide it's
fullverbatim text.

What does "the computer went haywire" mean? What tiny squares? WHat do they
look like?

What does "i have been trying everything!!!!" mean? Exactly what have you
tried, and exactly what were the results? include the exact verbatim text of
any message syou received.

the computer screen went into little tiny colred squares i have never seen
this before so that is the best i can tell you about that. i can only get
into setup or i can get B:/>/ or I can change it to A:/>/ if i put a disk
in the diskette drive. the error reads Windows could not start becuase the
following file is missing or corrupt:<Windows root>/system32/hal.dll. please
reinstall a copy of hte above file. I cant seem to change it to c drive so it
only reads diskettes i tried copying a copy of the hal.dll file from my other
computer onto diskette but it does not work.
