Missing Microsoft VM option

Michael Hoeben

Hi,
Have just bought a new computer with XPHome pre-loaded. I
am able to surf most websites except one which offers
this error message when inputting certain values.

Line 262
Char 3
Object doesn't support this property or method.

A friend uses XPhome and they have the following setting
available, but on my computer the section titled
Microsoft VM is not there.

Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Scroll down to Microsoft VM and make sure "JIT compiler
for virtual machine enabled" is checked.

The website owner has advised me to download the latest
version of IE which I have done, as well as a file from
the sun java website but the option still does not appear.

Under my previous O/S of win98, I had no problem working
on this website.

Your help is as always, appreciated.

Thanks
Michael

The "JIT compiler" option only applies if you are using Microsoft VM, not the
Sun version. For the Sun JRE, go into Windows control Panel and open the Java
Plug-in applet. Select the Browser tab, and ensure that Microsoft Internet
Explorer is selected. You'll probably have to reboot after making a change.

If no luck, or if you want to try installing the Microsoft VM (which wuill
not be supported much longer), check here:
