Hi,

I had a fix for this issue before from one of you but lost the sheet and
cannot find the solution from back in October 2004.. Here it is...

I am running 2000 Server and am attempting to hook up a parallel printer..
I cannot select Lpt1 as a device because is is missing from the select list.
The printer works fine with USB, but I need the resource of the UBS for
other items.
The printer is seen on a reboot and tried to load the driverbut I cannot
select Lpt1 as a device.. I get an invalid device name error message.

As I remember, it was a missing SYS file enabling the lpt port, which is not
installed by defaut in windows 2000 server..

Any help would be great.. Thanks Robert W

Now, how did you do this? Unlike you I actually want this to be the case,
but both my server keep on putting LPT1 back, even after disabling it in the
BIOS???
