Interestingly, this cache file has recently disappeared for me, and no
matter what I do, I can't get it back, which seems a bit strange.
Yes, I know it's a hidden file, and I've tried the various tricks like
switching video resolutions and rebooting - to get it back, etc, but all to
no avail.
I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has the same issue of no
iconcache.db. Keep in mind it's a hidden file, so unless you have your
system set up to show hidden files, you'll never see it.
This file is a hidden file, that normally lurks in:
Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data,
and stores the icons.
But so far, it doesn't seem to be presenting a big problem. Apparently the
icons are being cached somewhere else, as I don't get the usual symptoms of
no icon cache (like after booting up and going to Ctrl Panel, and having to
wait for the normal icons there to appear).
