The multimedia icon in the settings folder has disappeared and now I have no
sound. How do I restore it? I'm using winXP Pro.

Thank you,
David

Multimedia is not one of the default icons in XP's control panel. Look for
"Sounds, Speech and Audio" or is that missing too?

Rather than go through all the effort to figure out what is going on I'm
going to disable on-board sound and install a turtle beach sound card. I'm
installing a second sata hd this weekend doing a clean install of winXP Pro
and will just start fresh.

Thanks for your response,
David

You're welcome, David and good luck with the upgrade.
