Missing HTML for content that appears in Normal View

Hi,

I'm missing the HTML code (HTML view) for content that appears in Normal
View. How do I see the code? I assume there is a disconnect from the "vti"
files but I don't know to to fix it.

Thanks in advance,

Geoff

What do you think is missing?

Everything in the BODY tag. I have an table that appears in normal view
listing products and associated info, images, etc. But when I switch to HTML
view, I do not see any code to support that HTML table. between the BODY
tags I see just some code that displays "Print this Page" and nothing else.

At this point I'm afraid to edit the file in fear of losing the content.
But I need to add content to the page. Why would FP show a page of content
in normal view then in HTML view not show any of the code that supports it?

Thanks,

Geoff

If you can display the page in IE, then do a view source, then save the file to your HD.

Did you create this page directly in FP and does the page use any server-side scripting?

If not then you may have broken or missing opening or closing HTML tags

I kind of figured I'd have to do the IE thing.

According to the meta tags the page was originally created with FP (it was
created before my time). This page doesn't use an server-side scripting but
does use (like all other pages in the site) FP extensions such as shared
borders.

Since I'm a programmer by trade I prefer editing raw HTML.

I guess this is really a nuts and bolts thing--I would really like to know
the cause of the disconnect because the content is stored somewhere within FP
or I would have a blank page.

Thanks,

Geoff

The source content unless it is Included, should be on the page in HTML / Code View

Once again, a big thanks to you Thomas for your help.

I actually had another programmer look at it on my computer (just to make
sure I'm not crazy) and she was dumbfounded as well. She had never seen that
before.

Turns out that if I edit the htm file directly with notepad (outside of FP)
I can see all my content so I saved it as a text file (txt) and I'm doing C&P
back into FP.

Thanks again,

G

Just an FYI-

The HTML code was a mess in this particular file. In fact, there were some
missing end tags for two <TABLE> tags (among other missing tags) and I do
seem to recall FP choking on something like this in the past. So this could
have been the cause of the problem.

Thanks again,

G

Yes, bad HML or missing HTML tag can cause that problem. I have ran into
that siuation myself.
