I don't find gpedit.msc under my Vista (premium) and there is no related
snap-in. Maybe is it not present in this Vista version?
Thanks.

Hi Giovanni,

Sorry, the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) is only available in
the Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise versions.

If there is something specific you want to do, there is a registry
alternative to it. Just let us know what it is, and we will help.

Thank all for your answers. I need to manage the registry to try avoiding
continuous restart of windows installer after installing Outlook 2007 (I
asked for answers about this in another newsgroup). I found a possibible
solution using group policy, so I looked for it, discovering it wasn't
present on my system.

The snapin is actually lusrmgr.msc it is in Windows\system32. It may not be
available in the Home edition but it is definitely a part of life in
Business and Ultimate.

Got to Windows\system32 and type

dir l*.exe This will give you a list of all APIs beginning with l. The one
in question should be one of them.

Alo you may find these two APIs in Windows\system32 useful: gpupdate.exe
and gpresult.exe

Thank you, but my Vista version is Premium, no program of these is included
in my version.
