missing floppy drive

Hi all I had some trouble trying to install a new copy of win2000 since I was
having trouble with the current win2000 I guess from a virus or something,
but while trying to install the fresh copy the installation got hung up at
the last pert of the install, I also have win98 on another partition so when
the install got hung I restarted the computer into win98 created another
partition where I installed a new win2000 OS but since then the 3 1/4"
floppy drive icon in win98 turned to 5 1/4" and I cannot access that drive,
also win I launched the new copy of win2000 the floppy drive does not appear
in my computer window or anywhere on my computer. Does anyone know what to
make of this
 
Check the cmos settings for the removable drives is correct.
