Bill

I turned my desktop on this morning and the following
message came up: Windows could not start because the
following file is missing or corrupt:
\windows\system\config\system
It will not let me get past that screen and I am not able
to get to the safe mode.
I am currently working off my laptop.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill,

The system hive of your registry has become corrupt.

The following article describes recovery procedures for this error:

from

Hope this helps!

If you can't get into Safe Mode, then do a Repair Install. Did you
change anything between the time it worked and the time it didn't?
