After a recent hard drive reformat I lost the drivers for
my LGE4480b drive. I lost the install disk too. The
drivers on the LGE driver page don't actually install the
drive until the drive is hooked up. If I hook up the
drive I get error messages and windows tries to restart.
How do I get the drivers for this drive?
A recent Email to LGE says this
The driver for the drive is built into the OS. If you
are at a dos level, you will need to MS-DOS driver from
any of our drives. It doesn't matter what model. But you
will also need to have a formatted disk that will
autolaunch the entire install process of the OS, and that
is something you will need from Microsoft. Thanks.

Yeah Im lost please help!

Dan, are you connecting the drive properly? Red Stripe on Ribbon Cable
aligned with Pin 1 on the Motherboard and Drive Connector. How old is this
drive? I looked on LGE's website and couldnt find it.

The drive is about a year old. The cables are connected
correctly... the dvd drive is set to slave on and inline
with a cd drive which is set to master.

Thanks for the idea of booting off the XP disk.

PS. this drive worked perfectly before the reformat.

Dan, try connecting the drive as Master to the Secondary IDE Channel.
Leave the cd drive disconnected
temporarily.
