Missing drive letter in my computer

I have recently re-formatted my c drive, prior to doing this I bought a new
drive and installed it so that I could backup the C drive to it, I also have
another drive onto which I moved my download files etc, after reforatting the
c drive I can see the new drive ok but the drive I backed up the download
files to does not show in My Computer, I can see it in disk management as
drive 0 and it shows in device manager as working properly, I can't reformat
this drive because of all the important files on it what can I do

Download Tweak UI and install it:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

the go to My Computer > Drivers and ensure that the drive is no *unchecked*.

Thanks,will try that, due to no home internet connection till, I can
re-configure, I have saved it it disk at my office and will try to install
when I get home.
