missing Desktop Icon

Colleen Lill

I recently reformatted my pc - am running Win XP Home edition. The reformat
itself worked just fine - I have an HP machine and I used the system
recovery program.

Once I was back up and running, I noticed almost immediatly that the icon
for the Desktop that appears in the Taskbar on the left (next to the Start
button) had disappeared. I did a search and although lots of references to
the Desktop came up, the icon was not found.

I'm finding it a nuisance to minimize all my windows to get to the desktop.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction on how I can find/restore the
Desktop icon?

Thanks,

Colleen
