Missing DAO licence on target PC

Im sorry.. did you just say that DAO _WORKS_?

DAO doesn't help me to build shit against SQL Server-- so in other
words, it is an obsolete DAL against an obsolete database.
and you claim that it works?

It's a classic catch 22.

DAO ****ING SUCKS BECAUSE IT ONLY WORKS WITH JET.
JET ****ING SUCKS BECAUSE IT CORRUPTS.

Which is the lesser of two evils?

Why subject yourself to either?

Adobe and Macromedia have been using the ADO library in commercial
software for most of the past decade.
Now why would they use ADO if DAO was 'oh, so much better'?
