Missing Contacts In List - But found If I Do A Search

In a contact view with no filters on, sorting on either File As, or Company
in order and scrolling to where a certain contact should be - the contact is
missing. However, if I do a search for the contact, or a general search that
would bring up many contacts in which that contact would be included (say
search on company name with all contacts selected) - there it is - the
contact is found.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong.

How many Contacts Folders do you have?

What version of Outlook?

How exactly do you search?

Using 2007. I only have one contacts folder. Two Outlook Data files The one
I use and one named "Archive" for obviously archiving which does not contain
a contacts folder either.

One of the names that I know is missing, and comes up on search (Doing by
clicking on Contacts and then typing his name in the "Search All Contact
Items Box) was part of a distribution list I created in the Address Book and
deleted which is still in the deleted items folder.

When I search for this contact is there a field that will tell me what
folder he is stored in.

Hope I provided enough info. Any help Appreciated. Thanks

You have answered your own question I think - the Contact is in the Deleted
Items Folder. Look for it there and drag it back to the Contacts Folder.
