Missing Computer Accounts

Hope someone out there can help me. I have been told by my helpdesk that they are getting calls from people saying they cannot log into the domain. When they search for the computer in the entire directory the machine is no longer there. But they insist that no one there deleted it. Any Ideas and is this something I should worry about.

Enable auditing on your domain controler policy and monitor account
management event in security logs.
