missing address bar when internet explorer opened

I have alreaady clicked on VIEW,TOOLBARS,ADDRESS BAR.

A a square grey block with the word address just appears
and disappears when i do that. But the address(window)
does not appear.

If I go to my computer the address bar(window, field,etc)
is right there!

Usually its right there and thats where I type in
yahoo.com, ebay.com, etc.

I was surfing and to get more windows open I temporarily
used view to disable the toolbars. But I thought I could
just click via view,toolbars and click the toolbars on
again. They all come up except the address bar(it looks
like a small transom window to me)!

Right click the toolbar and make sure Lock Toolbars is not selected. Place
the mouse cursor over "Address" and drag it down to its own line.
