I have 3 windows xp pro machines sharing a dlink router
that supports UPnP.
Have windows messenger 5.0.0482 and msn messenger 6.2.0133 installed
on all.
Everything is great on two of the machines. With either windows messenger
and msn messenger, I can do video, remote assistance, application sharing
and whiteboard.
On this one machine, though, I can't do remote assistance, application sharing
or whiteboard. I can do video though.
When I bring up windows messenger, the Actions list doesn't
even include the failing ones as options, whereas they are
in the Actions list on the other computers. That's the weird part.
I can't figure out why.
They are in the Actions for msn messenger, but they fail after trying
to connect. Or other machines fail when they try to do those things to
this machine.
Somehow it thinks I don't have the right stuff enabled or installed
on this one computer, but I can't figure out what.
I checked the registry and all the rtcshare.exe and rcImLby.exe entries
seem to be there.
thanks for any assistance.
