I have an Excel based solution implemented in Excel 2003.
Some cells have formulas: "1+INT(6*RAND())", to get
random integer number in the range of 1 to 6 (both
inclusive).

Surprisingly some of the cells evaluates to ZERO or even
negative numbers.

How can that happen? I have captured some of the screen
shots also, if anybody is interested in looking at.

This was initially developed in Excel 2002 and then I
upgraded to Excel 2003.

Some additional information:

This solution involves demonstration of stastical
probablity of throws of 2 dice. I have this mentioned
formula in 65500 cells in Column A and 65500 cells in
columns B. Column C adds corresponding cells from column
A and B.

I can consistantly reproduce this behavior.

Hi
known bug of RAND(). download the Service Pack for Office 2003 and your
problem should go away :-)
