Minolta 5400 extended warranty

I have a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 and the 1-year warranty is
almost up. Today I received an offer from Minolta for a 2-year
extended warranty for about $50. I usually don't buy such things, but
wonder if anyone has any info on whether these scanners frequently
break down or opinions on the need for the extended warranty. For the
10 months that I've had the device, I've had no hardware problems.

Check the Digital Darkroom Forum on Photo.net. Based on the recurring posts
about problems with the 5400 I and II, $50 would be cheap insurance for this
scanner. Then the only problem you will have will be getting K-M support to
do anything.
