Miicrosoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error!

K

Katmando

I am constantly getting the following message when trying to run Windows
Movie Maker, and various similar software like: Movie DVD Maker, actually
any of A-One Software Products.

The full error message reads as follows:

Miicrosoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Programs C:\Program Files\MovieDVDMaker.exe

Abnormal Program Termination.

I'm running under Windows Media Center, Sp2, on a HP Media Center PC, intel
pent. 4, 2.80 ghz processor, 512mb DDR SDRAM, 160 HDD (5400 rpm) ATI Radeon
9200 AGP 8x graphics card with 128 DDR video memory.

Thanks for any assistance.

I have the same problem when i attempt to open certain projects. i have been
using MM2 to make slide shows and video presentations. it seem to blow up now
opening anything that has video in it. a codec issue perhaps?

Possibly, depends on if it does this with more than one filetype.
If it is only one filetype that is doing this it could easily be a codec
issue and you can find out by disabling codecs or downloading new ones at:
http://www.free-codecs.com/
If it is more than one then it is likely something else. One quick thing to
try in this case is to simply do a system restore back to when it was
working. The only issue with doing this is that any applications you
installed between now and the date you choose to restore to will likely need
to be reinstalled. If that happens then install one at a time and try WMM to
see if one of these apps caused the problem to begin with.
