Migration worksheet with grouping from Excel 2000 to 2003

I've created a large material database with Excel 2000. The worksheet that
contains this database uses Autofilters und Groups. If I protect the
worksheet using a password I'm able to use the desired filters and groups.

With introduction of Office 2003 I've following problem:

It's not possible to select a specific group level now, if I protect the
worksheet with a password. But if I protect the worksheet omitting a
password, eveything works very well - but who likes to protect it's data
without using a password.

Is this a new "feature" or a bug or do I make something wrong?

In xl2k, you had to protect the worksheet in code to allow you to use autofilter
and outlining (grouping).

In xl2002 (I don't use xl2003), the worksheet protection got a little more, er,
stringent. You had to unprotect it using the correct password--xl2k was more
forgiving when you applied the protection.

If you are doing this in code, you may want to post your code.
