Hi there
I have been tasked with migrating over 2,500 desktop computers all over the
county (UK) from Win2K to WinXP. Problem is each user has full local admin
rights and with the exception of running Win2K and MS Office XP, they each
have up to 12 different applications running on them, totalling over 500
unique apps.
My question is - Short of running the WinXP compatability tool from each
desktop and connecting to the Web to check the XP compatability of each
application (which I cannot do for time, logistical and financial
constraints), does anyone know how I can check the compatability of each
application with WinXP?
My only route so far is to run a software inventory tool on each desktop,
bring the data back to base and then check each application against the
parent website for latest versions, storing the results on a spreadsheet.
Help!
Many thanks
