Migrating GPO

I have two domains, one lab, one production, they cannot see each
other. what is the best way to take a GPO from my lab and migrate it
to my production domain. also what are best pratices for copying and
backing up gpo's?

You should look at the documentation for GPMC as it
has planned for just this scenario, and includes script
for same also. You would use backup and restore with
group replacement rules
