Migrated Computer Account corrupted

This is my first attempt to migrate from a Win NT4 to a
Win 2k server. I have new equipment running the Win 2k
and have configured with a new domain name. I migrated a
computer account to the new domain and everything appeared
to be ok, but when I deleted the account from the old
domain, the workstation would no longer log on. To
compound the problems (it is a win2k pro workstation) it
will now not allow me to log on even as the local
administrative user. It is almost as though the system
passwords have been changed and I have no idea to what.
Is there anything I can do other than rebuild this
workstation. Help. Also what could I have overlooked to
allow this to happen and am I right in assuming that when
the computer account migration is successful, it should
move it into the new domain?

Many thanks in advance.

You can look in the security newsgroup and use one of the password breaker
programs to break into the box. I use a free Linux program. Always check
the local accounts before you pull a machine off the domain or delete its
machine account (sorry to state the obvious at this late hour).

microsoft.public.win2000.security

I recommend you try the ADMT (version 2) to migrate accounts - it is
available from MS's download site and is much better than the 1x versions.
