Microsoft's new "Expressions" product?

There is a new and emerging paradigm of page design, layout, and integration
with code that includes the use of a GUI and various drawing processes to
design and develop software applications. Generally speaking, the command
line and the text editor will play minor roles in the future of the visual
design and development paradigm. Release dates are black magic. That's it in
a nutshell.

How does this product fit in the scheme of developing ASP.NET 2.0
websites?
Does it compliment Visual Web Developer 2005 Express? Expected release time
frame?

The expression products are mainly GUI/graphic/image tools. Expression was
originally an illustration package...sort of competed with Illustrator and
Photoshop. Their new Expression 'Sparkle' is an XAML GUI editor...akin to
Macromedia Flash...with the difference being that the logic can be created
in VS.net (as opposed to Actionscript, in Flash).

As it's a Vista-only product, it seems fairly worthless for web-centric
development. Might be a nice way to make windows applications though.

I have a hunch it'll end up like Flash. Great concept, certainly useful in
certain applications, but abused/overused 90% of the time 'just because we
can'.
