I made a Rental agreement out for my rent house on micro
word. How can I bring that file up on my screen and fill
in the blanks (as in typing in tenants names etc,)
without making my document change. I have windows xp

G'day "Jannette" <[email protected]>,

You insert fields from the forms toolbar and then use
Tools > Protect Document > Forms to make it a fill-in form.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm and
especially the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.

Also, for future reference note that "microsoft word" is not a very
descriptive or distinctive subject line for a post in a newsgroup devoted
entirely to questions about Microsoft Word.

In my opinion, you are going to have to take that form and make it a real form. It may take some time, but when you are finished, you will love it.
Look at MS Help and thier website for more information on the forms toolbar. Once you put in the "fields" you will be able to lock the form. Then all you will have to do is Type, hit Tab, Type, Hit Tab, etc.

.I would suggest you open your master document,
immediately do a SAVE AS and list the new client in the
SAVE AS name: SAVE AS: In My Documents-under clien't name.
Now you are ready to type in the clients name, etc.
If the lines go away as you type, click on U on the
formatting toolbar, and the names will have an underline.
To remove the underling 1 left click on the U again and it
is removed. A shortcut for using Bold, Italic and
Underline are by using a few keyboard strokes. Hold CTRL
key, hit B, you will have Bold, the same to remove Bold,
continue with this process with I & U for underline.
Good luck to you! mej
