microsoft word screen turns blacks and shrinks

i have a problem that when i open microsoft word the screen turns black for a
few seconds and then it shrinks all the windows i have open and when i exit
microsoft word everything turns to normal size.
 
This is very strange. Have you tried repairing the installation? You may also want to check if your display driver needs updating.
