I need help, the right button on the mouse does not work, and am unable to
click and highlight words for copying and pasting, the word options appears
to be locked on the popular tab at the top of selection.

Could be a damaged Word data key in the Windows registry.
Assuming you have Word 2007, close Word, start regedit, and
rename the
"\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data"
key. Word 2007 will create a new Data key using the factory
default settings when you restart the program. If this fixes the
problem, great... but you might have to re-select some of your
Word Options settings. If it doesn't, you can close Word 2007,
go back into regedit, delete the newly created Word data key, and
rename the old key back to its original name to retrieve your old
Word Options settings.

I have the same problem as Will, but I am not sure of what to do once I get
to the regedit. Can you explain this process a little more? I'm not sure
what a data key is or how to rename it. I could locate all the places under
current user (software...microsoft...office...12.0...Word...data), but then I
wasn't sure what to do from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With Word closed, select the entry 'Data' in the left window of the registry
editor. Press F2 (rename) and Change Data to DataOld or Data1 or whatever.
Restart Word and it will rebuild the key with install default settings.
