Microsoft Word 2007 Date Format and Header

I have Microsoft Word 2007 installed on a Windows XP (SP3) computer.
The regional settings in Windows are set to English (South Africa) and
all my default language settings are also set the English (South
Africa). When I add a default header to a document that contains a
date content control, it insists on displaying it in the US format -
MMMM dd, yyyy. Is there any way that I can change to format of this
date to display dd MMMM yyyy? I have also changed the Header language
once the header has been inserted, but no text typed to English (South
Africa) , but the date format remains stubbornly US. The only way I
can change this at the moment, is to select the date content control
and then use the Insert; Date and Time and change the language back to
English (South Africa) and insert the date.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to permanently set these
content controls to an English format other than English (US).

Go to the Control Panel>Regional and Language Options and click on the Date
tab and set the Short and Long date formats to those that you desire.
