Microsoft Word 2000 SR 1 won't open

I cannot open word unless I go to Run and type in program
name. It won't let me open it from the desktop or from
programs. I have tried to delete the program and put it
back on my computer but it still will not open. I have
also looked for the normol template but my computer is
unable to locate it through the search window. I emailed
before and I was given things to do, the first was to go
to run and type in program name, which worked, but the
next step was to locate the normal template which I
cannot locate. PLEASE HELP!

You're looking for the file "normal.dot". The XP search utility will find it
only if you it set to search for hidden files and folders.

On my machine, it's under:

C:\Documents and Settings\Bob Knowlden\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

where "Bob Knowlden" is my account name.
