Microsoft windows network across a router

I recently bought a wireless router for our new wireless laptop.
It works OK, but the laptop is isolated from the rest of our network.
The problem is the router in the wireless box, it gets between our new
laptop and the rest of our network. How do I get this new router to just shut
up and forward anything between these networks?
(I know I should have bought an access point instead, but I didn't :-( )

Evelien,

how are all the boxes connected?

Put the router into "switch only" mode. Check the manual to discover how to
turn off routing and DHCP services on it.
