We get the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool every month in
our updates. But...... when is the tool run, when does it scan, and why
have I never seen the "report" that the tool is supposed to provide after it
runs? How am I missing the tool's actions on my system, or is it a "behind
the scene" type of process? Thanks.

Hello.

Read some informations available here:

Windows Update downloads the MSRT & runs it. If it doesn't find anything,
it just "goes away."

If you want, you can examine the MSRT logfile by opening
%Windir%\Debug\Mrt.log <=this file.
