I have just bought a new pc with XP media centre.
I set up 2 user profiles. The primary profile is fine but the but the other
keeps giving the following error message pop up when i click on My Computer:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Windows\Explore.Exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

When I click on IE it gives the following error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

Can someone please help

Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary,

Has the machine been connected to the internet yet and has the user with the
problem done any web surfing?

I had the same problem and updated my java at www.java.com. I then looked up
online and installed the older version of microsoft java vm (Msjavz86_3805)
and enabled both on my system. it cured the problem with the runtime error
that you are having.
