Hi,

I was just wondering if A virtual machine for Windows 98
SE can be created using the FAT32 file system if the Host
File system is NTFS. Windows98 normally cannot see NTFS
partitions..thanks for your help.

Hi

Yes. There are no correlation between the file system type used in the host and
the virtual machine OS.

The VM software actually is an application talking to the Host OS, in this
case WinXP, which can read NTFS quite fine. The VM software also creates a
simulated environment for the Virtual OS you wish to run, in this case
Win98SE thus, the VM software is the intermediary between the Host OS and
the Virtual OS.
