Microsoft to the Rescue with refund check

Just for those still wondering or waiting if it is worth the bother, I
got my Microsoft refund check today for $178.69. I had originally
bought a copy of the Home Premium version of Vista, then discovered it
can't do a install in place, so I picked up the required Business
version sending the Home Premium copy back. Process took 28 days and
was painless.

Is it personally signed by Bill Gates?

He's betting that you won't cash it...just so you can say that you have his
autograph <G>

other side ;)
never mind the souvenir tho... I'm still waiting for my refund from 2
copies...

LOL!

No, but now that your mentioned it, it isn't a corporate check from
Microsoft Corp in Redmond, WA, in big bold CAPITAL letters it says the
check is from MICROSOFT MONEY BACK GUARANTEE some address in San
Leandro CA.

I purchased Vista Home Premium Upgrade on CD because the MS Advisor said it
was the best choice for my business computer only to discover that I really
should have installed Vista Business because some of the MS Accounting and
OL/Business Contacts features don't work with the Home Premium version. Is
there a way to get a refund on the Vista Home Premium and quickly update to
Vista Business or Ultima (which I see is the only option from Home Premium)?

I purchased Vista Home Premium on CD to upgrade from XP because the MS
Advisor said this was the best package for my business computer. Now I
discover that many features in the OL/Business Contacts and MS Accounting do
not function in Vista Home Premium. Is there a way that I can get a refund
on the Vista Home Premium and quickly upgrade to Vista Business (or Ultima
which seems to be the only option available)?

It looks like others are getting refund, but I haven't seen where or how to
apply for this.

If you live in North America the process was simple enough.

Just explain why you are asking for a refund, return the product.
Microsoft even reimbursed my cost of shipping it back to them and the
big kicker is I didn't buy it from them, I picked it up locally from a
Fry's retail store. I assume Microsoft charges it back to them as a
debt on future sales, since they ask for a copy of my sales receipt.
