I recently downloaded the beta version of the Microsoft Spyware, I have just
ran a scan and gone into Advanced Tools, clicked on System Explores and there
is onthing there now, where I had the options on clicking on Startup
Programs, Running Processes etc etc, the screen is blank, can anyone help.

Many thanks

This is usually the fix:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

Bill Many thanks for your help, have a great Christmas and New Year, just a
quickie, any idea why this bug happens?

This is a "dll hell" issue--interference between multiple apps using the
same named code module.

Many folks seeing this also have Symantec apps on their systems, and see it
after an install or update process. I'd be interested to hear whether this
fits your situation, but this is also something that won't be present in
beta2, so it's almost a curiosity piece at this point.

Bill, I installed Symantac Internet Security and Spyware worked fine, then I
installed Symantac Systemworks 2005 and thats when the problems happened.
Although your fix worked I didn't like Systemworks so I reformated my pc,
reinstalled eveything from scratch (a bit harsh) but that was the only way I
knew how to get rid of Systemworks fully.

I have reinstalled Spyware and its working fine, but I think Symantac
Systemworks is the definetly the problem as it doesnt happen when I install
Internet Security.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks, Mike. It is interesting to note that even some Systemworks users
don't see this symptom--but a good many do. I understand your method of
recovering from the Systemworks install--it is safe and effective, which is
more than can be said of some simpler methods....
